Yeah thanks for the bump - good thread.

Nice work ladies!!! Keep it up!

My latest accomplishments were getting clear on what I want in a boyfriend and a new job. Amazingly (or not depending on your beliefs), I'm pretty sure I've gotten both in a matter of days after...awesome.

My other big accomplishment is non-climbing as well: I tried and LOVE acroyoga. I trusted a complete stranger to hold and support me while being suspended in the air, upside down.

The amount of trust in myself & my partner was immense and it was intense experience - amazing again.

I passed written boards.

But now I have to study for oral boards. And I feel completely overwhelmed. Yikes.

Congrats! I know how tough that can be. Cycling had been my passion for about 25 years before my first serious crash and injury. When I first got back on a bike, I was incredibly gun-shy and would nearly have a panic attack if someone rode next to me (my crash was started by another rider falling down). Slowly the good memories will overwhelm the bad one, and things get fun again. Be sure to give yourself a huge mental pat on the back every time you get out. It really helps restore the positive association with your sport.

Whoa! Blast from the past!

That was almost a full year ago. I got over a lot of mental block this summer with rock climbing, but ice is still freaking me out! I guess I need more time with it. Unsure

Your advice still hold true for me today....I think we're going out this weekend to try to find ice so I hope to get a couple more days under my belt.

Oh, duh, it's 2008 now, isn't it? Wink

Ice freaks me out too, but I've only been on ice a handful of times. Climbing such fragile stuff is scary. On the other hand, who can resist a sport where you get to kick the wall and pound on it with axes, and it's ok?

FWIW, my accomplishment for the year is building up my long-neglected upper body to the point where I can actually do one chin-up on a good day. A year ago, I couldn't even hang my body weight (and I'm not large) from the chin-up bar without feeling like my arms would tear off at the shoulder. I can get to the top of the gym's overhanging boulder wall on the easiest route, whereas a year ago, I could not even execute the first move off the mat.

I managed to "climb" out of bed and make it to work on time every day this week! 7am-10.30pm 1 hour lunch and 45min break between work and school - YIPPIE!

About 3 weeks ago I send my first solid 13a! I was way psyched, especially since, as some of you know, I gave birth 10 months ago.

I also didn't put off going to the dermatologist when my hubby said I should go cause of a spot on my face, which was good cause it turned out to be melanoma. If I had waited 6 months I would be seeing an oncologist! Don't forget your sunscreen and hats ladies!!!! I'm not even fair-skinned, just lots of moles.

I have to totally stop climbing for 6 weeks due to a finger injury. Now I have restarted climbing in the gym, doing laps on 5.8s, bwaah. I am working really hard to be patient and I guess that is my accomplishment for now :((

Congrats on the baby and the send aimeerose.

Baby smiles just kill me! They're better than fluffy puppies, cheesecake and good hair days :)

Now that she's sent Anorexic, has she started projecting The Receptionist? ;)

I hang dogged my way up my first 5.11c or d lead route in the gym. If only we had some real rock to climb here.

Hahaha -- amazingly, I managed to climb 4 days a week or so (mostly outside) while in grad school. (With mountain biking thrown in...)

So it will be really nice to have the other part of the week now to climb. Smile
