Expected 30 cms here

Maybe this will finally be the winter that has balls.
Hopefully too. I finally got to use my snowshoes for the first time today. I bought them summer 2006 off steepandcheap.
Goddamn, I was wishing that we had snowshoes whne we were in Quebec. The snow was deep there!

How was her majesty's land?
You mean Quebec?

It was fuckin' sweet!! We are hopefully going to hit some stuff up at Gaspe and then spend one more day at Pont Rouge on the way home. Hopefully the river will be frozen at PR. I'm super excited to get back out there later in the year too. We just need to find two more people to drive from toronto with to split gas and a hotel room.

Here are a couple of pics of Bec at PR.

That looks steep. Nice job becca!

Nathan lead it, but I need to get some TR millage to get comfortable with the whole thing before I start leading.

BTW - did you gte every thing sorted out with the boots in the end. I know her last email was saying that she was going to send them out at the agreed price, I'm just wondering if she ever let you know that she actually sent them out.

The boots came on Christmas Eve, right to my door and this poor lozer didn't have the cash on had for the C.O.D Frown The post lady had to take them over to the local post office and I have to pick them up there. I am very excited to see them! Going to go get them tomorrow.
Oh and bruce didn't know I bought them so when she came to the door and said I have a package and you owe me $70 he's like what the hell did you do now??

You can expect burning forearms and cold.
And screaming barfies when you hands get cold then warm up. That normally only happens once a day though and as long as you keep your hands warm and don't overgrip it shouldn't be a problem.

I need to ask...what is a screaming barfie???
When your hands go numb them warm back up.

Generally they are caused by lack of circulation from over gripping. The blood stops flowing and your hands get cold. Meanwhile the rest of your body is getting super warm because you are building heat while climbing. Once the blood start flowing again it hurts like a bitch. Supposedly some people have them so bad they want to barf or something.

If you are careful you can avoid them. It is a bit like hangovers while drinking, but would happen after your first drink then not be a problem the rest of the night unless you did something really stupid.

Amazingly enough, I haven't really gotten them yet on our trip. My new belay mits are nice.

Glad to hear that. I wonder if my ski mitts will be as good...not sure I can belay with them...they are sort of bulky

Not too busy. Well, not anymore.

Single guy <---- just dropped his daughter off with his ex-wife and returned home to enjoy this evening.

I'm going skiing tomorrow, so I'll return to busyness in a bit when I start to de-bur my edges on my skis. I caught a nasty rock a few weeks ago and my ski is in need of some dire TLC.

Hope the skiing was good e. Bet the hills were not busy at all yesterday. Best time to go!
I was actually suprised that it was as vacant as it was yesterday. The conditions were good. That is if you like hard, fast snow. My legs are killing me right now, but it's all in good fun as I plan on heading back this weekend to do it again. Hopefully there will be more terrain open on the mountain.

I've been accustomed to the hills being a bit busy on Christmas in the past. We used to get up, do presents, get dressed and head to the slopes. Then again when you've got 14 world-class resorts within an hour's drive things do tend to be busy all winter.

It was nice to not wait in line at all, all day. Literally ski right to the chair without stopping.

Sounds amazing. And you know you had a good day when you hurt like hell the next.

Finally bruce said, enough with the pictures don't make me regret buying you that! hahah got a soft shell too and some free weights and the usual other stuff. Oh and a fondue. How cool is that.
