It's raining here, is above freezing and all the schools are cancelled.Crazy

I say skip it.

Why do they cancel school for rain?

It snowed here a lot late yesterday. Today nothing, but I hear there is more coming tomorrow.
Freezing rain would be a good reason to cancel school

got 4-5 inches of snow. Then we got a lot of rain. This morning we are back to snow. The rain is all puddled up under the snow. Driving conditions must be horrible.

Those are the worst. I'd rather have feet of snow than a few inches of freezing rain.

Blue sky here.... same old crap!

Smile

Same here. And it's fucking 75 again. How unoriginal! Mad

hrmm so it would be a waste of $300 in airfare to fly there to climb? Was looking up flights just for fun around the godesses weekend in J tree.

Only $300 to LA? That's not a bad price, but I'd think it'd be a bitch to get from LA to JTree without a car.

I haven't really looked at the godess weekend...now you've got me curious.

wouldn't it be fun. I would hate to drive in LA but I bet our friend art would come pick us up.
Wanna go??

Foul temptress.Mad

I'll have to get back to you on that one. Let the over time paychecks come in first.

heheh well its not until April and I will have to take the time off with no pay, but I would. The cheap flights go fast though Angelic

For how long are you thinking? For that length of flight I'd have to stay down there longer than just one weekend.

And its in April. When I was there at the end of Feb. 4 years ago it was starting to get pretty hot already. April sounds really hot.

4 or 5 days I was thinking. But I really want to go to Rumney in May, so it may not be the best idea I have ever had. I bet it would be hot in April. but right now I want hot
How about the New River Gorge in May? I'd like to try to hit up the New River Rendezvous again this year.

Not saying that I don't want to check out Rumney too, 'cause I do. We can make something work.
I could probably squeeze out at least a weekend of climbing if you guys make a trip down.

We didn't invite you

Oh they will be leaving, but you don't need to live vicariously through them, you will be leaving first!

citizenship is "in the mail" ???

Not citizenship, perminant residence. He won't be elegible for citizenship for at least another 2.5 years (and that's if we stayin in Canada that entire time).

The letter was good, but its not the end. He still has to go to the landing interview in Niagara Falls (which they have to set up), and then he has to get his PR card. There might be more steps too, but I don't know what they are.

I'm hoping they give him a welcome to Canada gift basket at Niagara Falls. I imagine it'll have some maple syrup, a bever skin hat and some of those little Canadian flag patches that Americans sew onto their backpacks so they don't get lynched when travelling abroad. Smile

LOL!!
I totally did that! In South AmericaLaugh

Glad to hear it's going reasonably well. What do they ask at an interview? Job oriented and past history stuff, I imagine...

"So, you aren't going to open a crack house, are you?"

No fun zinging yourself before I get a chance to. Two years ago we stayed in this awesome little cottage on a motel property. There are 2 of them I think and really cheap. Only a 10 min drive from the crag. And compared to camping when it always seems to rain in Rumney it was well worth it.
