If you're flying towards the east you should land before you took off. Going back you'll skip a lot of time... wait, I have that wrong, cuz you're not going to cross the international dateline. In your case then you'll lose time, but more going home.

You gain time if you fly east becuase it was later there than when you started ?
THe only way I see that you can land earlier than you started is if you go east across the pacific and cross the start time line <Or whatever the fuck you call it.

Yeah, that's what happens. We got our tickets for Aus in March and the return flight Sydney-LA has us leaving at 1pm and arriving at 10am the same day (3 hours earlier)
