On the occasions that said elders deserve said respect, I will not fail to provide it. However, I don't think this one quite qualifies

Once you get the hang of indifference, ammorality is certainly the next step. I was pretty damn close on both. Actually I was pretty close to accepting the delusion that I was close to attaining both, which is good enough for me. Then stuff happened, I got all messed up and realized both that I'm not a heartless robot and that I should never again attempt to dance as one.

I don't believe that love is ever reciprocal. Even if two people love each other I am hard pressed to believe that they love each other in the same way. It seems that many people just like the idea of someone being interested in them, or maybe they are just afraid of being alone so they'll take what they can get.

I wish I was like that so I wouldn't have to read so many angry emails or listen to angry voice mails, or deal with other peoples' angry friends making assertations about my sexual orientation. I'd rather die alone than settle on someone who makes me miserable, and it seems like that's going to work out for me. I'd also rather be a penguin and swim and eat fish all day, but I don't think that'll work out quite as well.

Ummm Yeah... Little hint? That whole "I like you as a friend" thing? Usually BS. What we really mean is "I'd love to get to a point when we can just have some beers and shoot the s--- again, but right now I need seperation becasue if we try to just 'hang out' I'm gonna wanna shag you again and then we're right back into that whole 'relationship' thing I'm trying to avoid."

Sounds about right.

The other bit of insight, in case it hadn't occurred to you yet: men are nowhere near as intelligent as women give us credit for. Some of us can be conniving, manipulative SOBs, but we're more subtle, less precise, and less persistent when it comes to such things. Its no mean coincidence that we invented football and rugby.

Bear that in mind through the losses and the wins and you'll understand us more. Also, the instant distance thing? Its a good way to deal. He'll come to his senses, eventually. Let him grow, let him get some objectivity. Same goes for you.

MUWAHAHHAHAHAHA!!! FACEBOOK!!!!!

I bet none of you know what this is. It's like friendster or myspace for college studnets. You make your profile, and then your friends link to your profile. I guess it's a good way to hook up with friends of friends. My students told me about it, and I logged in and now Ihave all my studnets as friends . .. sort of weird.

legal or not is not the issue.
Anna Nicole Smith, when she was 27, married J. Howard Marshall, who was 89 years old. They were both legal, but I still think that was way wrong!!!

a few free associations for you clausti:

-kriso9tails is easily the funniest person on this site.

-love is so much different than we were told as kids. at least that's how i see it. we might have been sold a lie, and it hurts to see the truth. having only really loved twice myself, i can not offer solace or advice (not that you were asking for any) but can only puzzle with you and empathise, and maybe chuckle at the sad little fellas you are going to vicitimize in the bars friday night.

-when you are through being pissed, and are ready to just feel sad and self-indulgent, might i suggest listening to john coltrane. more specifically the tune 'stardust' on the 'coltrane plays for lovers' compilation album. i don't think he meant for it to be a sad song, but it sure can be.

-GOD am i a huge dork.

while I agree that we might know as much as girls do to start with, I think women tend to lead guys on way more than the other way around. I know that's stereotyping and there are a lot of wonderfull honest women out there, but still...

You'll have to excuse my morals (yes, I DO have morals) and the fact that I find it highly objectionable the way older guys hit on 18 year old girls since "they're legal"

I'm pretty sure she's 19. And Jay isn't THAT old. (Are you Jay? Some back up here would be appreciated.)

I don't think I'm "that" old, but it's a moot point, since I wasn't hitting on anybody. That said, I'm curious what age t-dog believes is the maximum moral age that a guy can be to "hit on" an 18-year-old girl, and why.
