Holy crap! Lisa, you're funny! I had no idea you were shooting me while I was shooting my breakfast! Heading back down to Shelf on Sat night if anyone wants to come. So far it's me, Deven and Ron. I have room in my car for 1 more victim. Torrey was very thankful for all of the belly rubs and scratches behind the ears by the way. You guys were all so much fun. :D And Jeff. . .thanks again for being so hospitable and such an excellent cook.

In reply to: In reply to: Allrightey... Cindy I have your marshmellow roaster, pm me. Now that thats taken care of, is anyone missing a green folding chair? Dude, pm sent. Thanks for keeping it safe. How did it end up in the back of your car? Slippery little sucker. I left camp after everyone else did and walked around to see if anything was left. The roaster was on the fire pit grate. There was a bunch of firewood still there and a chair as well. I figured the sex toy was someones so I saved it.

In reply to: That's it! There is NO WAY I am missing this party next year. Glad everyone enjoyed/survived the weekend. Welcome back I must 2nd this sentiment. Driving to SA with two PMSing women, getting sick (not from consumption), and getting rained out for Sunday at E-Rock....not cool. Shelf sounds like it was the place to be. Insipired by your humble gathering....I have set out to organize my own drunken barn dance down in Carlsbad at LCC! I think my favorite thing so far is the barfing belays! Reminds me of Mexico this winter! It was a climbing trip, if we wern't climbing we were drinking, if we wern't drinking we were eating, if we weren't eating we were sleeping, and that is about it, and don't forget your helment.

:!: Would it be impolite to inquire whether this kind of large gathering - and its disregard of the (limited) rules of the BLM campground - runs the risk of undoing all the hard work that went into securing the help of the BLM in establishing Shelf Road in the early days?

I humbley suggest you all whip each other with a cat o' nine tails in drag whilst reading passages from the BLM rulebook. Note: the campground was as clean or cleaner when we left than when we arrived. That is the primary thing that matters. In addition, I moved rockfall out of the road for the benefit of the local drivers as well as myself. And I totally was going to smoke out this old farmer guy, but he just smiled and showed me his own stash.

In reply to: One more thing, how do you post pictures on this here thing? You post them on another site like myspace, photodump, etc. and post a link. Going through the process here is akin to Chinese water torture or death by a thousand cuts.

Nah, not impolite at all. Actually people were camping at nearby sites as well, spreading it out. Plus we paid for the number of people and like Tim said, we cleaned everything up really well. :)

had a few minutes and a computer...thought i would check in... i am in frisco. meeting up with sharpie in a couple of hours for more abuse. cologman and i hit the black on monday and tuesday. did "leisure climb" and "the russian arete" (my first grade IV  ) the guy may be more amazing on the big walls than behind the camp stove. thank you jeff... i am beat down from allergies, altitude, and 5 days of climbing but it's alllllllll good. i will post more thoughts about shelf when i have more time. it was amazing in so many ways. it was an absolute pleasure meeting and seeing everyone. regards r.r.
