The "green chilli stew" stirred up a question...what are we doing about food? communal food or every one for themselves? -knate

Well, the camping trip fell through. I won't go into the reasons here. But, we are down to just over a month for this thing to happen, so some reservations should be made. I'm willing to make the call and front the cash (payback by the honor system is fine by me), but as I still haven't been up there I'm asking for votes on which site(s) to get. It looks like our numbers should be around 15 to 20 at this point, so choose sites accordingly. It's getting closer .... -Tony

I think the best idea for food is "Chinese food style" where everyone is self-sufficent but willing to share (with those who are sharing).... I will certainly be a sharing type..... And the beer..... please NOBODY bring Utah beer (grin). Tony... I can help with campsites (fronting cash) so you don't have to take it all. I do, however think you should take SPECIFIC commitments from individuals first:
1. My name is ________ and I will be staying ______ nights, and I will pay for ______ campsites..... I would not reserve sites for people who don't offer a specific commitment..... and anyone who doesn't pay (give them a Q-rating of ZERO!!)
I think Litedog may have gotten the short end of the stick on the campsites for the Utah gathering..... Maybe we could arrange for him to camp free at COR ?? And what about Ratstar... I still want to climb with him!!! Get him up there!! I have posted a map of the sites here...

Knate, the camping info is here or here. I am a little bit nervous about reserving so many sites, plus the fact that I don't know who is going up when and leaving when, so I am willing to reserve 51, 52, and 53 for Wednesday (I'm going up Wednesday afternoon, anybody else?), Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The 'rule' is two vehicles, two tents, and no more than 8 people per site. I don't know how strict they are, but according to this we can fit around 4-8 people per site (I'm thinking most people will have two people per tent). So, three sites would cover a dozen people with some room and 24 people if we cram. Keep the input coming. I'd like to get an idea of who will be coming on Wednesday and who on Thursday if that is possible. Also, if you just want to make your own reservations and do your own, that is totally fine as well. But please let me know that also so I can plan accordingly. Thanks all, -Tony

Quote:Hey Gabe do you want to car-pool? Are you bringing rocko or your wife? I may bring my beeter half. John As for Barbara, probably not... but I will pose the question again in October, and see what she sais then.... I might bring Rocko (have him sniff everyone's packs for contraband)..... inside joke, if you don't get it..... you probably woulnd't get it Does that mean you might bring Teton as well? Might be a good time for them to socialize as well. I will bring tons of webbing to trolley the pets. Even if we don't end up in the same car, we need to make sure we end up on the same rope. I don't think I will climb as stiff, unless I got you holding the brakes....

I may be wrong but I can't imagine the City being very crowded this weekend. In my mind October is late in the year for most campers to be out. I may be wrong, but i would suggest being conservation on the number of sites reserved. I will definitely be there Thursday night and will be staying until Sunday. i wwill forward funds to reimburse you for costs as soon as I am given a per person/per day cost. Nailzz, let me know what i can do to help.

Nailzz, I will definately be staying Thursday night thru Saturday night. I already cleared the days off with my employer. If you need me to mail you a check for the campsite, that's not a problem. Thanks for the time you are investing getting this trip put together. Corey

I've heard the Wasatch Mountain club say that they have had 3 tents to a camp and nothing was said - not that we should plan on this - (they go up there a lot). They did, however, receive a very nasty letter about the noise levels at night.
