I believe him. The ever present broken glass by the side of the road is witness to numerous car break ins.

Yeah, car break-ins and hostage situations usually run hand in hand.

In reply to:
That picnic ground would be an inviting place for a wetback criminal type to camp out waiting for prey.

40-60% of all felony arrests in Southern California are wetbacks. Your assessment of his origin and ethnicity is for sure statistically probable and since you were a close up and personal witness for an extended forced time, I'd have to say definitive.

The term wetback used solely to inflame the PC crowd and other leftist weenies

Mission accomplished. You're an asshole.

Its sad that there are those who doubt my story...I share it with you, and write this post again to hopefully keep you safe.
As I said before please try to focus on the facts...not be distracted by the details of the event.
Contact Perris valley police station for further details and a police report if you wish to know more...I am concerned as the gunman seemed to know the perris area roads very well, and to escape it appeared that he hijacked another car so may well be still in the area, and I would be sad if the event happened again without trying to warn people?
kind regards

:D

You guys may need to implement a new grading system there now to factor in encounters like this. Hostage Factor? Illegal Alien Encounters?.. wait.. I might of had one of those (minus the Illegal part)

As the saying goes: "No good turn goes unpunished." You offer the poor dude your Gatorade, and he kidnaps you. You report the incident online to warn your fellow climbers, and they call you a liar.

I'm telling you, next time, push the bad guy off a cliff, and sell the rights to the story to Hollywood.

Hommee

next time you are wondering around in the woods just watch out, Amigos are running the Ganja Farm, they are loaded with AK47 24/7 x 365 days taking care of the farm. You were lucky this time, they did not shot your gringo's As*

Watch for , plastic pipe, extra garbage, tents, newspaper, trash, solar panels, amigo's music in the wood, power cables, generators and any thing else that does belong to nature. You see that, turn your horse around and go home, you are in a wrong place .

I'm glad your fine.

Did you report the incident to the Park authority??

In all the times I ever climbed there I never saw a single park person, although they were really efficient at ticketing your car if you didn't pay the fucking fee!

I say raise some hell with the Park authorities too!!!

Given his (sorry, I'm assuming you're a guy) broken english, maybe flygiles is the kidnapper and he's assumed flygiles identity just to troll us on the internet. Again, why wasn't this on the news? If some noob goes and buys a rope and shoes and then gets stuck on a cliff or falls it's always on the news - helicopter and everything. Climbers getting held at gunpoint are way more sexy than Dean Potter soloing delicate arch in a thong.

Come on Curt, is that how it is? You are the first profile I've seen with first and last name (if that's really your name!); I think most people prefer to remain somewhat anonymous on the internet. Because the OP hasn't posted 10,000 she must be suspect? What is the agenda? She's not selling anything. To spew racist propaganda? Please. There was nothing racist in the post and I reject those who made the accusations to the contrary.

It looks to me that the OP signed up for the site as a courtesy to fellow climbers by informing of a dangerous situation. Perhaps the message was more important than a complete profile. Absolutely, the area is crime ridden and full of seedy, shady visitors. The event as explained seems very plausible. I hope that a police report will make it's way to the site to verify the story.

Just chiming in to point something out. A few have made statements like "you tried to help a guy, and he pulled a gun on you." You are leaving out that it was not some compassionate concern for the lone figure that made the OP's climbing partner go down, but rather that partner's concern for his own belongings. Yes, then they offered gatorade, but don't start the story there. It is disingenuous.

Thanks for the safety lesson, dipshit.

Oddly enough, between this strange thread and the other unsubstantiated one that this anonymous guy posted, there seem to be two different stories about what allegedly happened. Posted by the same guy. Hmmmm.

I can usually tell when an automatic is cocked, but it's pretty tough to tell when one is loaded, so I wonder why he pointed that out. Think he made that shit up?

You should change your handle to Z-MOTO. You and fitz can flip for it. You both have a real gift.

TO THOSE WHO DON'T BELIEVE THIS POST

This discussion of whether the post is true or not is getting old...JUST call Perris police department ask them and verify the story for yourselves...that way you can focus on the important issues, not wasting your valuable time questioning whether I,m correct or not.
YOU have nothing to lose...just call and then
Call Perris police department( south california event khappened on Wed 11th oct 2006 and finished on Mapes and A street intersection ) involved G.FABRIS thats me and B.COLLINS.

AFTER YOU"VE DONE THIS PLEASE.
1-POST TO LET OTHERS KNOW THIS IS TRUE
2-IF YOU"VE ACCUSED ME OF BEING A LIAR...BE A BIG ENOUGH PERSON TO POST AN APOLOGY TO ME...IF NOT GO F++K YOURSELVES

p.s. Whoever called me Son...I,m not your son or ever will be...wanker

This time Curt you are being an ass. Not everyone is an Internet junky like most of us regulars. I can fully see someone having been subjected to this wanting to post a warning and wanting to keep it anonymous considering this guy probably has his ID.

I was climbing at Big Rock before the dam was built. It's an isolated and unpatroled place particularly in the middle of the week and seems to attract an unsavory crowd, (not climbers).

As for devilsadvocate. Being tagged with expletives by someone who's signature implys child molestation is an honor.

Don't expect too many people around here to do that kind of work. The most ascerbic among them save that level of effort for searching other posters' profiles for ammunition to tell them how hard they don't climb and such. Ignore them.

If your goal was to come here and share your story, then you've done so. You don't need anyone's approval or confirmation. For example, the "most probably like a disheveled Mexican illegal" remark bugged me, but that doesn't change whether this happened to you or not. Let people take from it whatever they will - that part is up to them. But just let it be and move forward. Don't look for your healing in this place.
