Hey Todd ... what is the show about?

edited to inform all that this will be going on for women in North Conway, this weekend ... sorry Tiff ...

June 23, 2007 — Women's Rock Weekend in North Conway

There is also races in Cannan and a small town fair in Enfield, about 15 minutes away.

also ... horse shoes at the site ... maybe volleyball, if there is enough interest.

I wanted to thank Todd for arranging this supper for all. Please attend this hot meal ... it'll be the only free food this weekend!

Thanks Todd

It's actually our anniversary weekend, which trumps climbing with the gals (even though that's fun, too!). I'd rather rope up with my favorite climbing partner for this occasion!

Also, I'm going to be trying out my ATC2K action camera for the Ruckus! It's a video cam that you can attach to your helmet. Josh got it for me for our anniversary. I might have to take some whippers to document Ruckus! Or just document general ruckussing!!!

Tiff. I hate to break this to you as clearly your husband failed to tell you. Josh has committed climbing with me for the weekend. He said that you wwouldn't mind and that he'd climb with you another titime. Apparently he's gonna make up the anniversary thing some other weekend.

I guess you are free to do that chick thing over in N. Conway. Heck, maybe Josh and I will come over and watch you ladies in action!!

PS.. I think Josh was planning for him and I to do some classic line on Cathedral that you guys haven't been able to do yet.

NICE! We all get to see what you have been looking at!! I'm sure Josh will be interested Wink

I'll have my camera also, which does take simple vids, but I rather take pictures. You two gonna swing by Whitehorse for old time sake??? You have to bring any special music for your anniversary. I'll make sure they get played.

Shhhhh... Josh really didn't say he'd climb with me, I'm just trying to razz Tiff, but don't tell her.

PS... looks like I am going to head up tomorrow night and set up camp, but it will be kind of late, probably sometime around 10pm.

Oh ... ok ... sorry ... shhhhhhhhh!

You know your way up and I'll be there to greet you. Should have a fire going and enjoying the evening when you arrive. Jake will be there also. I have noticed that the area around the stone walls are mostly even and a nicer area for tents ... or are you bringing that camper again?

Man ... the weather is going to be BEAUTIFUL in comparison to the past three years. Only Friday night look iffy.

I don't want to jinx it, but looks like there are four of us heading up Moby Grape. If the stars align and everything come together than that is Friday's plan. If it falls through then I think we'll be looking at some other trad stuff in the notch. Not sure about Moby as I didn't put it together, but I know if that doesn't happen you're more than welcome to join for some trad stuff.

PS... don't forget your schtick! Tongue

That's right, because you know you would be SOOOOO dead! Mad

Alan - we're actually headed up to N. Conway from June 29 - July 5 so I think we'll be sticking to Rumney for the weekend afterall. I'm not going to mention our ticklist in case A CERTAIN SOMEONE tries to seduce my husband into getting on the classics without me!

By the way, are there any confirmed groups of 3 or people otherwise needing a partner? If so, maybe we could start a running list of those on the first page so that people could have an opportunity to talk and hook up before. What are your thoughts on that? I have a good friend who is coming along and I told her there would be no shortage of people to climb with.

Rich ... you are so BUSTED!

I would start something about partners, but it's too late for that. I'll think of something for the gathering. Maybe a place to have names of those looking for partners and their abilities??

Rich,
Moby Grape may not be a go for this weekend, but something on Cannon will get done fo' sho'. Kym is out, and so is kiddo. End result is that I will be doing the alpine start from Maine to get to the climber's lot at 8AM on Friday. Looks right now that we'll get our trad on, but I'll need to blast back east on Saturday morning.

Morning everyone. It is Thursday morning and I will be leaving to finish setting up, which means that I will not be on-line from this point on.

For those who need directions, the best place to look is the first post of this thread.

Remember, bring what ever you'll need, besides the port-a-pottie or firewood ... I'm taking care of that. Wink

Later all and Drive Safe!

Thanks for an awesome weekend boys and girls! Thanks for the intro to that big old pile of schist called rumney. I can't wait til next year. Jammer thanks for all of your hard work to make it happen. It must have taken forever cutting the grass on the redneck riding mower.

Todd,
It was great to meet you, and thanks again for setting up dinner. What did you and Rich do after I left?

Regarding your comment about looking forward to next year, only problem is that with Colleen selling that property, the Ruckus is homeless. I'm wondering what everyone would think about getting a big block of campsites somewhere next year. Would any of you still go if you had to pay to camp?

Matt, we walked up to see if yoda or obiwan were open so Rich could leave dissappointed but there was quite a deli line so we continued up to wimea and were sufficiently humbled. We walked out he packed up and headed home. I drove over to N Conway for the slide show. Which was slightly dissappointing. Sunday was awesome trad weather but I had to head home to pack for a business trip this am (in airport now). If you (or anyone else from the ruckus) are interested in the daks contact me and we can hook it up. I'll let you know when we are coming to Maine and maybe we can get together and climb something.

Was great to meet you all! Jammer, thank you SO MUCH for all your work. I really appreciate it. Allison and I enjoyed hanging out by the campfire, grilling and chilling - the tunes were great. And the weather definitely made up for three years all in one weekend.

And if I may do a little spraying on her behalf: On Saturday, Allison flashed the technical 10d - Milktoast. She then followed that up on Sunday by red pointing Waimaia / All-the-way-a - an impressive send at 5.11a - by far her strongest send ever.

Jammer - you must have incurred some expenses for the weekend, renting the port-a-john and stuff. I know you haven't asked, but can those of us who'd like, send a check to help offset some of that?

Let's see - things I learned this weekend:

1 - If it flies, Josh doesn't like it. Birds, bees, bats. Doesn't seem to matter.

Who can add to our collective wisdom for the weekend?

GO
