The Red and the New are my "home crags'' and I would recommend them equally. Camping is better at the Red and free. Chances are you'll stay at Miguels if you go which can be a good area to talk with some locals about current conditions. The New, in the spring, seems to seep alot due to the hills on top of the climbs. The bouldering scene is Huge at the New compared to the Red. But if I had some time to do some sport anywhere I would go to the Black Hills, SD. There alot of very tall sport climbs and some multipitch sport as well. Camping is free and very nice. Problaby better weather than the SE that time of year.
