I'm hoping to climb the grand canyon this summer but the guidebook recommends pro to 4 miles. Does anyone know where I can find a cam that won't tip out of this classic chimney?

oops thought it posted. I guess "widefetish" does look a little controversial as a URL.

Glad to see Lucas getting some much deserved credit. To the guy who said he should be DQ'd for being a pro- He made that cam while in school, and is now a semi-pro photographer & artist. Check out his blog if you're interested: http://www.lucasmarshall.com/blog/bee_log.html Disclosure: Lucas is an old friend of mine. E

Hahahahaha -- you saved me the trouble of posting the photos, thanks! I have to put a word and a vote in for Jesper's cam, "The Mastodon" as a contender for "cool cams not mailed in to the comp." The Mastodon is all plywood (except for the stem), has independent lobes, and weight somewhere between 25-30 pounds. It works as pro up to 36 inches. Being 5.4 1/2" tall, the thing comes up to my shoulder and when I place it, I have to pull the trigger like a crossbow. He was totally psyched to send it in to the comp, but, unfortunately, *mailing* the thing cost about as much as mailing, ummm, well, a mastodon. Jesper's a wood sculpter by training and his cam is truly a work of art.
