unless you are using another rope setup like a top rope for simul rap, the person at the bottom doesnt needs any device. he just needs to pull the rope you are using (replacing your brake hand) and you will stop and be able to let go of the rope. MAKE SURE HE IS PULLING BEFORE LETTING GO
