As I understand it, the sentiment you're expressing is part of what led to sandbagged Gunks grades; Gunks guys thought the effort they expended on their roof climbs on the EC should equal what they spent huffing up Yosemite Odubs and chimneys in the grading scale... I am by no means an OW expert, however. I've gotten up short 5.9 sections, but that's about it. As with any kind of crack climbing, having the requisite crack technique should generally bring the grade back into alignment.

Sounds fair enough. It's certainly very hard sometimes to transfer grades from one crag to another, especially if it's different rock type. Yeah, 5.9 offwidth is definitely pushing my limit that's for sure. 5.9 is such a wiiiiiide grade in the States and can mean you're going to cruise it or you're doing to die!
