Hi, I was wondering if you're still interested. I have to get something solidified. I may camp on Friday, so I was wondering where you would want to climb? I've climbed the east bluff most. I have 2 50m ropes and one 40m.

HI Alec, I usually check the weather 4-5 days prior before I plan camping as well as climbing. If weather is not great Friday night, but nice Saturday, then I leave at 6:30 from Milwaukee - I know it's a long week-end, so it may be hard already to find/reserve a camping spot (though I am also going to the Chicago Mountaineering Club, so eventually when a full fledged member, I can always stay there, and have guests too).... so anyway, we can meet there. I usually park at CCC parking lot, then go up the East bluff too, set up my rope there. I have one 60 m. rope. I have climbed only for about 3 years, but I also climb with people who have lots of years, 30 + , of exp. Home number: 414-332-3918 - I am gone the whole next week, camping and climbing, may be at Devil's next week-end too - I check my email everyday dring that week. Do you climb at Adventure Rock? I am always looking for partners. Also, I may plan a trip to the Reds, Nevada around Christmas.... if you or others may be interested ???? (I will fly, most likely). Ok, climb safe, let me know what you think, Christiane

Hey all, I realize I missed this trip but I'm moving to Lake Geneva and want to start climbing DL as often as I can. Especially now that it won't be so crazy on the weekends. I've never been to DL and don't have much in the way of gear. As of a few months ago I was leading low 10's in the gym, but we'll see how out of shape I am now! Just let me know if anyone's going up that way, I'd love to tag along and check the place out. -Josh

Josh, I went up the last two weekends and I found the Chicago Mountaineering Club. They go pretty much every two weeks. Definitely check out their website. My family lives in Lake Geneva. I drive through every time I go up. Maybe we could drive together. I met the writers of the Devil's Lake climbing guide. World class climbers. Most excellent. I'm planning on going up on the last two outings, two weeks and a month from now. Check it out. Steve

I know it's a little past the date, but some friends of mine and I are trying to get as much in before it gets too cold this year at Devil's Lake, we're open to others joining us. If interested, email me at tammyvh@hotmail.com. Right now we are looking toward mid October as we're all heading to Moab to climb early October. Always looking to meet more climbers. Tammy |

It's never to cold to climb at the lake. A lovely February day: Though draws were freezing to the rock, that was fun.

Alec, Thanks for the heads up, if I'm not too tired from climbing in Utah this upcoming long weekend, I'll run over for a day. Where do you climb at DL with the group? Were you all just up there on the 20th at the Old Sandstone area?

We climbed at misery this weekend. We had three groups and I'm not sure where the other 2 went. Vulture lookout last weekend, cleos amphitheatre two weekends ago, many pines ( I think) threee weeks ago. Have fun at utah, sounds like a blast.

Thanks, will have fun in Utah, going down to do some climbing in Moab. How do you determine where at DL you'll be climbing? I'll probably drive over on Saturday for the day and catch up with the group.

On outing weekends(open to anyone) there's a meeting at 9 am at the cmc campground. It's down the dirt road between the nort and south beach. I've always wondered what was down there. The rope leaders decide where to climb. If you can't be there before 9, let me know and I'll call or text you as soon as i'm high enough to get reception. We're usually all roped up by about 10:30 or so. Steve
