It's sunny, well, for a little bit more today. Mid 60s, no wind. Overcast. A rather pleasant day today. Didn't even need a hoody this morning.

But apparently suburban Canadians don't know how to drive
heh

They probably do better than S California in a slight drizzle

I need new brakes and tires, too, before I go on my road trip. I've got bald tyres and squeaky brakes. I'd be a shitstorm in the rain and snow right now.

I'm driving a Pontiac Wave with "baldini" tires. Doesn't really matter when you're going less than 1 mile per hour

Won a 10.1 Sterling at the climb-a-thon raffle at the gym the other night. Haven't picked it up to play with yet but I'm hoping it's a bit more supple for use as a sport rope.

The Maxim I'm using as a tard line is pretty stiff but has the 1 over 1 weave and feeds brilliantly thru the ATC. Just kind of sucks thru the GriGri vs. 2.0

Need to get 6-7 cams reslung and the rack is going to be pretty flush for spring. Has a long tick list of .10 - .11 gear routes for the fall. Hopefully I will be up and running by April...

Where are you looking at having this done? I have replaced about 7 rigid stem Friends, circa 1982, with a set of 12 or so Wild Country Tech Friends, circa 2005, and would love to have consistent, color schemed supertape sewn on to my specs.

Wasn't one of the shops in NoCo doing re-slinging or am I just delusional?

MoutainTools.com will do it, but you'll be sending your gear to California.

In other news, everything is set for me to get my drivers license back around Dec 12.

I just bought a pair of strap-on (!) towing mirrors for the side of the Tundra, and a 22" flat screen with 120v AC or 12v DC power for the RV. Selling some Evolv shoes and a nice point & shoot film camera on eBay.

Etsy sales have picked way up, mostly the $25-45 price point. I have a couple more drums going on in the next few days, and then replenishing the lower priced items for the Christmas sales.

Another drum making class in two weeks, and more after the New Year. Gotta write a workshop plan and then participant handbook for another advanced class.

Private 1-2 hour sessions with clients about 4x/week. I don't miss the furniture making at all, although I have made a few cedar drum frames when I need to.

That is all?

I think Ragged Mtn does it, but I'm looking at options. Ideally I will find a place with 10+ shades of webbing. I'll probably end up using them once the rock season gets totally shut down.

It's dry still, eh?

I've noticed on NEClimbs that Al is still reporting dry conditions. The photos back it up, though I saw a shot of Mt Washinton and the snow up there that was nice, though not coming in thick yet. I'm hoping things form well in the Sierras, the Wasach, and the Rockies for my end of year trip. Mostly, the conditions in Ouray better form before I get there!

no, was a good time really. I didn't want to go because I'm not a huge party kind of guy, but they're folks who I have / have had class with and decided it'd be ok. the rain held off, i didn't pull any muscles, and I managed to understand about 50% of what was said (less if you consider what I wasn't paying attention, to, which, btw, is my real problem for not learning portuguese fast enough).

i think my problem is that I have a sort of compulsive way about me, and when I do some activity it's the kind of thing that I like to do a lot, or like to do seriously, so these sorts of events are usually uninteresting for me because they're supposed to be laid back with small talk, etc.. Well, maybe this is a sign of getting old. I don't give a shit about worrying about stuff like that any more, I just do it and have a good time.

pick my battles and roll with the punches now. i admit I had fun (and that tall russian dude was scary good at volleyball. that was a sight to behold).

So... Its pissing rain out so I took the offspring to one of those indoor playground things.

A couple of bitchy chicks are sitting at the table behind me just whining about their perfect lives.

Would it be inappropriate to turn around and tell them to shut the fuck up?

It looks like Mountain Tools has the most flexible options and currently has 11 colors available.

Yates does them too but they won't take cams over 10 years old and some of my TCU's are at the 12 year mark and have date stamps. I'll probably go with Mountain Tools if for no other reason than that.

I'm getting to the same point. Mellowing with age or something. Two of my climbing partners just got engaged and invited me to the wedding. 2-3 years ago I would never have even considered going. I just didn't go to those types of events but now I'm thinking about it. It just doesn't get under my skin like it used to.
