Standard electrical tape and things like it are going to have about 20g/m^2 of adhesive. That means that if your sling is 1/2" wide and your tape is too, you will have a total of 1/2in^2 in contact with your gear. 1/2in^2 is 0.00032m^2. 0.00032m^2*20g/m^2 = 0.006g of adhesive potentially in contact with your gear. That's 6 milligrams. Watch me not worry
