Just when I thought I'd get a much needed rest day, my partner sends me a text. "Longstack tonight?" Who am I to decline such a well intentioned proposal?

I'm shifting over to Electrical work for the next few months. I'm soooooo stoked! Regular pay checks are AWESOME! Organized, cleaned, sorted, and stowed all my gear. Then dumped out my tool bags, organized, cleaned, sorted, and packed all my tools for tomorrow. Bought a Humming Bird yesterday for $40.00 at the Gear Exchange on my way out of Bishop.

Ironically, I'm going to have more money and time for climbing, now that I'm not going to be guiding for a few months. I can't wait for some alpine ice. Epoch, think anything will form up in the Sierras this year? I drove past Bloody Coulior yesterday. The thing is completely melted out.

Climbed one route that I had not previously done, then scrubbed a new line on a previously untouched section of cliff. I was too pumped from cleaning and it was too dark to get the send, but it will go next trip. There will be two other FAs on this section of wall, each about 100' high.

I used my partner's Hummingbird axe when I climbed Repentance on Cathedral, and my personal Hummingbird hammer is still one of my "go-to" tools when things get narsty. It usually gets designated as the spare third tool now that I have (finally) upgraded my ice gear, but that thing is awesome. I never liked the tubular pick, however. The straight pick works perfectly fine and in a greater variety of conditions.
