People We Have 5 Spots Left Sign up before they are gone
I am trying to organize a trip to, most likely, Colorado in June. I am looking to see if any other teens who would like to go. I know it might be a pain in the arse, bcuz ur parents won't want you to go, but trust me it will be well worth it. I would like to have less than 12 people going. If you would be interested, either reply to this post or pm me. The trip will consist of hiking and climbing. I don't have details, seeing as I would like to know who wants to go, so we can work out all the details together. I have now created a new website to keep track of the teen trip. It's not the best but it should have some information http://teentrip.topcities.com Thanks, No Shoes [ This Message was edited by: codyk on 2003-01-20 07:33 ] [ This Message was edited by: codyk on 2003-01-20 07:34 ] [ This Message was edited by: codyk on 2003-01-22 06:49 ]

Sounds like what I'm doing. Three weeks of climbing and backing in Colorado and Wyoming. They go to Eldorado Canyon, Fremont Canyon, Wild Iris and Sinks Canyon. Then a week of backpacking in the Wind River range, with some alpine climbing. Check out this link http://www.owa.com/alp.cfm

hey, i gotta be honest. its really cool that you want to organize this, and it sounds like it would be a lot of fun... but, come on, whos parents are gonna let their teen go off into the woods with a bunch of other teens who are complete strangers? i mean, would you want to go backpacking in a remote location, or climbing with people youve never met before? your partners are people that you trust your life with, and it takes some time to get to know them. i know that i never climb outside with people i dont know, you go to the gym first to see how it works out. my advice is get your friends to go with you. people you know, that will get along, and whos abilities you trust. or do an outward bound or nols program (or something else if your a wuss!)they are awesome. whatever you do, have fun, and good for you for wanting to organize a trip for yourself, elena

Good. Mom always told me to think negativly. I already have 4 people who are pretty sure they can go. So take ur negativity elsewhere. It's neither wanted or needed here. Thanks

It would be a lot of fun. I don't know if I could do it, it would depend on when it is and what I'm doing at the time, I've got a pretty full schedule this summer. But it seems like a potentially great trip.

This is a cool idea!! It looks like you have put alot of thought and effort into it! Make sure you have all your bases covered. Also I would recomend that you try to find an adult to go with you. Even if its some one in there twentys at least you have some one that is legaly responcable. Also I would have a monditory day hike and climb before you guy take off into the woods. That way every gets to know each other and trust each others abilatys also you can trouble shoot your outing. also you will get a better idea of peoples intrests and abilatys. But seriously bring an adult! It will make all the diffrence for you trip!!! Good luck!

i would recommend at least a couple people over the age of 18 going along with you guys. secondly, it will be hard to attract people when you have not made a solid plan. your website has 4 people that have signed on. amongst you four a decision on locations and the exact timetable. that would be more attractive to someone who is a bit nervous but is still interested. once your numbers grow then maybe some of the dates can be tampered with. once you figure out where you are going to be you should determine emergency contacts and a timetable to communicate with parents(naturally they will want you guys to check in). one last thing to consider is bringing someone along that has some, at the least basic, knowledge of first aid. somebody that is WOFR (wilderness first aid responder) or something like that would be somebody I would want on a trip like the one you are suggesting. good luck, i hope it works out.
