I've done it! This is THE new place to chat about goings ons in the midwest area and for Mowz, Organic, Sporster, Greenspace, Erickaclimbstoo, and anyone else interested to carry on conversations that last for months. I felt that the RRG Labor Day weekend thread was only relevant for things that are relevant to it (huh?).
Anyways, maybe this new thread will attract more peeps.
Thanx for everyone who had anything to do with the title.

Yeah I that was you guys at Left Flank and I was climbing with others form Chicago. I'm heading to D.L this weekend, well Friday night and climbing Saturday with climbingspaz. Thats Chris who had Jen and the 7 year old Cole with them. We're looking to run some moderate trad lines and stay at green valley if anyone is interested.

Damnit.. I won't be able to get up to the Lake this weekend (well, maybe I'll be able to sneak away). But, I'll most likely be up there the weekend following. And then I'll definitely be around the weekend of the gtg. Hope there's a better turn out this time though..

Well I cannot make it up to DL this weekend I'm volunteering at the wisconsin Ironman in Madison. But I really want to go Sept 20-21. Who else from the chicago area will go with me? Anyways school sucks I'm staring at the stack of books and homework that awaits me for the rest of the afternoon and evening... blah! I wish I had more time to climb!!! and see my girlfriend :/ arggh

Good post mowz, Ive been hitting the books hard so i've been away for a couple of days, Hey quickclips, were you guys the people that had a dog that got in a fight? Anyways, can make it up to DL this weekend, but mowz, organic, greenspace and anyone else lets try to coordinate something for the 21.

I'm starting to feel left out...School started and the kids...well I should say the parents are already on my case! I'm looking forward to Rocktober Fest. I'm going no matter what! Anyone need a ride? I'm leaving from Oak lawn area on Friday. Need to start planning now!
As for the lake...not until it starts to get a bit more chilly. Wakeboarding on the weekends till I can't take the cold. Last weekend was the start. This weekend heading down south to a bit warmer climates...shelbyville

Sportster, that wasn't my dog but they came up to Left Flank with me. I was the guy belaying the girl while she was cleaning that 8 on the right arete in the rain. The girl is Rach (dancingmadlybackwards). Do you want to meet up at the lake this weekend?

there was that dude who was totally all about NOT stooping to our 5.9 or 5.10 level, because he was too good for that shit, he is a 5.12 all the way.......then there was the Asian girl and the "hot" girl who was climbing with the man in question I speak of..what the hell am I typing, I'm drunk.....later

My climbing partner is the curly hair girl, and I meet the asian girl the day before and drove her and her friends out to Drive By, so I guess I was with both of them. Yeah I was climbing with Druid, the buddist. He was a little down on the "mellow" stuff, but he's a good guy and showed us around pretty well. I was also climbing with the guy with the tats (chris, climbingspaz) and his girlfriend Jen (jenlaka) and they had one of their kids Cole with them. I'm meeting Chris at the lake this weekend. We're meeting saturday morning at green valley. I'm staying there tonight, so if anyone wants to join me you're more then welcome. I don't know what site I have yet, but just ask Kay where she put Chris and she'll show you where I am. Anyway I gotta run out to lunch, I'm a bit hungry.

Sportster, I hope you haven't left for DL already, but I can't go. I was hoping you'd be coming down to Chicago this weekend for some climbing at VE. Oh well. If you do end up in Chi on Sat, give me a call, I'll PM it to you.
Greenspace, are you going to make it to Rocktoberfest? I hope that you can. And what's this about you being drunk? Haha. Silly boy. If you make it to Rockfest, I'll bring good Ocktoberfest beer. I promise, no Coors (but maybe some good old Cubs beer aka Old Style).
Organic, how you doing man? I haven't heard from you in a few days. Hit me back.
Erickaclimbstoo, you better be there for Rocktoberfest. You missed a hell of a time. Lots of booze and Goober sandwiches.
Quickclips, I will be able to make it to DL on the weekend of the 21st. But isn't the 21st a Monday? Besides this weekend, is there another weekend that would be open? This weekend was short notice. I'm still trying to figure out which guy you were at RRG. I just remember the guy that slipped down that mossy boulder and all of us laughing at him and the two skirts and the dog fight. Meh.
Everyone else: GO TO ROCKTOBERFEST!!!!!! But tell us what you guys are driving or look like so we can all meet up and form a huge mob and take over a whole area like Left Flank and keep it for the day, all to ourselves. Sorry, that sounded selfish, so maybe we'll spread out and take over TWO areas. Hehehehe.
The 21st of Sept. is a Sunday so if we can all plan a "better" day for DL, it would be climb-tastic.

Mowz, I'm down to DL the 13-14, I'm actually going to be in milwaukee the morning of the 13 until around 2 and then i'm heading to the lake. THe gathering is that friday thru sunday. 18-20 (?)
At RRG, I'm the guy with the green dodge, about 6'2'' -200lb brown hair and a goatee. my pic is on my profile. I was there with the dog named Girl, and a bunch of others. I was the guy with the blue cooler drinking kilien red, honey brown, and bass.
I'd love to head to rocktoberfest with you guys, but I don't think I can get off work until friday ~4 I might be able to take a half day, and meet you in chi-town. I'd have to be back sunday night though, if thats your plan, and you're down with me joining in, i'm down.
I like the taking over idea, bring a crew.
I'm heading to the lake...now

NO WAY! that was you the big guy on the slackline? Mike or something? I was that guy who did that mount from underneath on the slackline right before we left, goatee, shoulder length dark brown hair. Thats weird that we didn't even know each other and we were messing around!!

:D Hey Guys, fancy seeing all of you here :) no one probably remembers me but I'm one of the guys from the college of Wooster group. Tall, black hair with highlights. Me and my friends were at RRG for the long weekend.

Alrighty, midwest buddies. The updated topics for this week are:
A Devil's Lake trip for the Sept. weekend of the 19th (that's a Friday)
Rocktoberfest on Oct. 11th and 12th
Madman_dan, Rocktoberfest is during the 11th and 12th. There will be demos, films, beer, booze, liquor, liquid courage, lots of climbing, I hope some seminars on safety and gear, maybe some stuff on access fund and other fundraising, and a whole lot of climbing. Did I mention alcohol? Perhaps there will be some women, too. Right Sportster?
As of right now, I will be able to make up to Devil's Lake for Sept, 19th, 20th, and 21st. To let you guys know, there is a camping fee. I think it's $15 a night but $30 can get you a year's membership. If we go, let us right now set up a time and place to meet so that proper arrangements to pillage the camp grounds can be made.
For Rocktoberfest, Meeting up at INdy will be a great idea since it will save on gas and money. The more people to chip in for gas, the cheaper it will be. And it will help with pollution as well. I would be willing to drive seeing that I get 40 mi/gal.
For both trips, please let us know when you can leave and when you might be arriving and what kind of beer you will be bringing because there are beer snobs among us. Hi Greenspace.
Well, I hope this update finds all you peeps enjoying the new football season and looking forward to pre-season hockey and enjoying the Cubs's victories.
P.S. Who wants to climb at VE on Wed?
