I was recently taught a set up for tensioning by a friend and it seems to work very well. There's no need for prussiks or anything, just your biners and some static rope.. basically it has the figure of 8 with a bight connected to the walking line biner...

this then goes into a biner (acts as pulley) connected to the anchor point (tree).. i then bring the rope back down to the figure of 8 and attach a biner to the walking line biner and put the rope in.. run the rope back to the anchor point, attach another biner to the anchor point biner.. and put an italian hitch on it.. then use common sense on what to pull.. i guess you could back it up with prussiks or even put a prussik on it to make it more a one man job instead of having 1 pull to tighten and the other to take in
