http://www.expresscameras.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=306293 This place has the Rebel XT for $600, and according to the site, you also get free case, tripod, cleaning system, and remote control car. Don't know how much shipping is, never heard of this site before, just found it on Froogle.

In reply to: REI is unloading their DMM 4CUs 40% off All sizes, 1/2 - 4 are $29 each online In store some of the larger sizes are still listed as $39 Cool, thanks!! Just bought the two biggest, which are nicer than what I was carrying in those sizes. The cheapest I found with a Froogle.com search was $37.95 at pagangear.com.

The larger sizes (3, 3.5, 4) are marked as $39 and ring up as $39, but if they actually look it up in the system it comes up as $29.

Sierra Trading Post spring 2005 riddle, from "Hot Deals" catalog: Page 13 in the description of the Royal Robbins stetch pique crew and polo "When you put in your two cents worth in 1980, what did it weigh?" Answer: Pre-1982 pennies weighed 3.11 grams each. So that's 6.22 grams or 0.220 ounces interestingly, in 1982 the treasury switched from a mostly copper coin to a (cheaper to produce) mostly zinc coin with a copper layer on the outside

This is true Sully. My science teacher in 8th grade proved this by cutting a scratch on a penny, heating it up, then melting out the zinc. All that was left over was the copper penny 'skin.' Mr Samson, the awesome teacher that he was, always claimed he was saving up 'penny skins' to make a 'penny skin' coat one day. I wonder how he's doing on that now?

THey changed to zinc, because copper became more valuable. a penny was actually 3 cents worth of copper or so, so you could melt down pennies at a profit! You can also heat pennies up with those jet lighters. The zinc has a lower melting temp, so the inside of the penny will be molten when the penny surface is red. If you hit it with something when it's like this, it will explode. Be careful!
