The 5.10 UFO!! I downsized them more than I have any other shoe and they're still the msot comfortable pair I own. They perform the best too. A close second is the 5.10 Anasazi Lace-ups. I got them in Germany when my UFO's developed a hole. (no sense in wrecking the rand when I can resole it back in Vancouver).

It’s definitely the 5.10 Dragons. These shoes will edge on ANY foot jib, inside or at the crags. They don’t smear as well as the Anasazi’s because of the curve but you'll love them. And if you’re getting a pair, order them a ½ to a full size bigger if not you’ll totally regret it.

LaSportiva Miura. They fit my foot better than any other I've tried. After tuning them up they stick like glue.

Has GOT to be the Boreal Ace. I got them about two months ago and have really been putting them through the paces. I love the board last that it has, gives a much more rigid feeling on the rock and takes much of the strain off your calves on those dime ledges. The fusion rubber is adequate, but can't wait to resole them with the 5.10 Stealth rubber (best rubber on the market in my opinion). I use them on face, slab and crack routes. It take a little while to get used to the feeling of them, as you do lose some sensitivity with the board, but once you get used to it, you'll stand on anything with them! Mick

i like the stealth rubber of the 5 10's and the hueco is a great shoes but i really think finding the right shoes is all about personal preference, what might work best for me might not work for you. its really all about trial and error, and if something feels right then stick with it

I just bought 5.10 anasazis velcro and lace-ups. I love both pairs cause bouldering I can slip em off quick and let my feet stretch and long routes they give me insect-like climbing abilities (on my feet anyway)

Favorite bouldering shoe? Definitly the 5.10 Moccasyms. Only problem is that they stretch out too fast, so to make them last as long as possible, you have to put your feet through binding hell when you first get them. I'd love to try the Rock Sox and the 5.10 Anasazi Velcro, though. My friends rave about them. Fav sport shoe (also favorite beginner shoe)? 5.10 Huecos hands down. Awesome smearing shoe. Best for women.

Because my feet are size 15, I don't have much choice in the matter, but my favorite shoe is the 5.10 Newton. They are comfortable to wear all day but also precise enough to boulder with.

Tricky one... I've had a few pairs of 5.10 velcros, and there all excellent, best friction boot out, gotta be..my fave have to be the 5.10 UFOs... and also ..I've got 2 favourites... Boreal Stingers, I love em. Rubbers not quite so good on friction as the 5.10 but I like them for edging, but I think it depends on your foot shape as to whether you can get on with them.... STIG

Hey Metolius I just had another thought Besides picking a boot that your comfortable with..think about what sort of rock type that you climb on the most... e.g. if you climb on soft rock like sandstone get a boot with soft rubber, a good friction boot like 5.10. If you climb on something like slate,..(yeah some crazy people in Wales: UK do this) get a really good edging boot.. or just go for an all rounder..

I was a Boreal guy through and through. I've owned two pairs. But when my beloved Bambas were due for a trade in I had to broaden my scope cause Bambas are not made anymore and I was hell bent on having velcro. What I ended up with is a pair of Red Chilli Torros. They are lace-ups and they edge, they pocket, they smear, they slice, they dice. The only thing they wont do is make your morning coffee....Which is just as well. So I think when you are hunting for shoes, keep an open mind and always carry an onion in your pocket. you never know when you'l want to put a pair through it's paces
