I checked their web site and there is no mention about the Onyx rubber. How does this compare to the stealth C4 or stealth HF?

In reply to: I checked their web site and there is no mention about the Onyx rubber. How does this compare to the stealth C4 or stealth HF? I have no idea yet... I'll let you know in early Jan. I haven't got my hands on a pair yet. I also have no idea why it's not on FiveTen's website. I assume the rubber should be prettyt good if they're moving forward with it... e_wire

Five-Ten has their outlet store in Redlands, CA, and it's only open Friday afternoons. They have everything, though, including demo's and cosmetics for cheap. Excellent for a guy like me with freakishly large feet since regular stores never stock more than one or two models in my size.

I got a sneak peak at the new order sheet for 2005. I might be wrong but I think the new rubber is called FX rubber, 5.10 apparantly thinks it's pretty good as they are putting it on all the old model shoes as well. The claim is that FX is both stickier and longer lasting than C4, not sure how that works but it sounds alright, I still think there will be people who want dood 'ol C4 on their anasazis. Anyway, that shoe in particular is called the Galileo and will be available in March for mail-orders anyway. after looking at the picture closer I kind of realized that the name is obvious

Thought I'd give y'all my two cents - cause I know someone on the inside. The rubber was gonna be called FX, now it's called ONYX. It'll only be on the Galileo for the time being. It is supposed to be stickier and more durable than C4.

Does it have a brain or think? I can see that it looks ugly, but stupid??? stu·pid ( P ) Pronunciation Key (stpd, sty-) adj. stu·pid·er, stu·pid·est 1. Slow to learn or understand; obtuse. 2. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes. 3. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake. 4. Dazed, stunned, or stupefied. 5. Pointless; worthless: a stupid job. I've always wondered ...

Couldn't care less if a squirel found that my shoes are ugly while it's gathering nuts...

Got a couple of pairs of the Galileo at the end of December - and my first comment is they look and feel very much like the Anasazi. The shoes I got where a size too small so I didn't have the chance to test the rubber yet. I hope to do this in the next couple of weeks. Overall - if you liked the Anasazi - you'll like the Galileo. Since FiveTen still had the best rubber out there - I don't see why the new one shouldn't perform as well as the stealth. I should - in theory - surpass the Stealth other wise FiveTen wouldn't take the chance of putting this on the market! Let you all know how it turns out when I try them for an extended period of time. e_wire

I almost pro dealed those shoes... but they looked a lot like the south west and since the southwest was a dissapointment i figured those would be too. I ended up getting evolvs. Remember its not the shoe its the climber wearing them, making sure they last is most important.

Hi guys, i own a pair of Galileo, worn them for 2 months already. They were excellent when i went bouldering on granite rock, but i find them a little too stiff for plastic bouldering. The sole is much stiffer than the anasazi velcro and also the rubber is much thicker on he heel cup. This make heel hooking a little uncomfortable but after getting used to it works as well. But i think i will save this for outdoor climbing and probably will get another pair of V10 for plastic.

Heel sorta looks like the MadRock design. 5.10's way of getting back at MadRock for ripping off Anasazi's looks?
