Don't feel bad...they aren't necassarily lame excuses : ). If you didn't eat, and didn't sleep, and were climbing alot, naturally you are gonna be weaker then normal. So don't sweat it...you'll get it next time. (just keep telling your self that and it will be all better) Everyone has a bad day.

You must remember that nobody ever hears of other people failing, that's because nobody talks about it. Everybody has had failures, even the best climers also. So don't be discouraged. Some days are better than others; and some days you'll just kick butt! Keep climbing. The more you practise, the luckier you'll get!!!

Sorry but.... Quote: The more you practise, the luckier you'll get!!! The more you practise, the better you'll get!!! Luck has nothing to do with it.

Yip, you do get better. I just liked the sound of luckier. All skills improve with hard work. Climb hard!

Practice does make you better but it also increases the numbers (attempts that is). The higher those numbers get the better your odds get and odds definitly have to do with luck, so in a way - practice makes you luckier. Sorry if that was a bit rambling

Also...........somedays you got it and some you don't. You've got to remember that there are many factors in your sleep, diet and social life that will determine what your energy level will be. Don't sweat it, just learn from it.

Just the wrong mood can mean the difference between getting up and flailing. A hard climb requires concentration. If you were even slightly distracted the second time, that could have been it.

I say climbing is about 50 percent mental if your distracted by something or in a strange mood it's alot harder to climb the route even if you've sent the route several times if something is off it can send everything off with it. So don't sweat it. Just try it again next time. Tony

Sometimes i have trouble repeating hard climbs just because i don't care to do it anymore. Like because i've already done it, i feel like it's a waste of time to struggle up it all over again. Also, if the route was really difficult, it might be hard to remember how you did it.
