hahaha nice one, i've been to cresciano, chironico and font so far this winter, basically been snowboarding as everyone thinks it's too cold to boulder, go figure.. anyway, i'm an expat from london, living/working in Lausanne (switzerland) at the mo, have plans to go to melloblocco in May, but keen to get fit for it.. i don't have wheels so relying on the swiss public transport, just keen to hook up at the weekend anywhere and cranking it out.. what say ya?

Ah I see... Switzerland is a little too far away for me usually as I have pretty good climbing just here. Melloblocco I'd like to avoid... I really love the valley when it's empty... just as girldrifter said: "when you can actually hear the river"

Are you only bouldering or also doing other things? I might be going to Ponte Brolla near Lago Maggiore some time this year for some multi-pitching, but not sure yet.

yeah 1000 odd climbers in the valley can't be fun, actually come to think of it, it'll be horrendous... what am i doing??

yes at the moment i'm just bouldering or sport climbing.. alot of my important kit, i.e helmet, trad rack, stuff is in storage in London.. i don't even have my bouldering mat, so doing it old school style.

multi pitching would be fun, but like i said, i don't have that sort of kit with me..

Well, it's a matter of what you like. I have a few friends who found it awesome last year, they said the spirit was great, people were supportive, everyone was in a good mood etc. It's just that I'm personally not such a fan of huge crowds, that's all.

Oh and of course (copied from other post of mine):

Apart from that, if you're willing to travel a little, my usual invitation also to you: tune into the Eurofreaks thread, meet up with us, etc. ;) We're a bunch of international people spread all over Europe climbing together as regularly as possible.

Hey, I've got a cousin in Lausanne (I won't ask if you know her because she's a tiny little Indian lady and she doesn't climb) and a couple of 3-day weekend trips planned for the area. I'll drop you a line if I'm headed that way.

Like Heiko said, we're always traveling and climbing... that is, there are several of us who are. 8^) Say hello and post your adventures in the Eurofreaks thread! :D

Cheers,
Taz
