can'T speak for the Ninja, but the Mad Pad blows, like falling 2 X 4's. There's a reason it's cheap.

imo the mad pad is the only good product that mad rock makes.. j/k. It's cheap, can be setup as a couch, and has a mat to wipe your shoes off with. I've never had problems with it. The nylon isn't as strong and gets fuzzy but still works the same. When I've been out I've always run into others with it and we've Velcro them together. I've felt no difference falling on the mad pad or falling on more expensive pads such as the fat bastard by metolious. edit: check out reviews on either in the "gear" section

I've used the Mad Pad and I think it sucks..it's too bulky and stiff. It's also too thick, it's easier to roll/sprain your ankle over something that is stiff and 5in thick, imagine landing on the edge of the pad. A crashpad doesn't need to be that thick. I have an old, beat-up, Globe Ground Control that's 3in thick and I've never had a bad landing with it.

The mad pad is very stiff when you first get it, but breaks in well if you use it often. Plus the thickness ensures youi won't feel the ground when you fall on it from 15 ft. after 5 years of use. It also provides great protection on for landings containing jagged rocks. Sure you can roll your ankle on it, but its really only an inch and a half difference (if you fall from more than 5 ft. your probably gonna role your ankle on any pad with good foam anyway). Just make sure you place it well and have a spotter that knows how to move pads. As for the ninja... I've never fallin on one.
