Hey Tang, PRANA makes some great pants. They fit close below the knees and are super tough. Well worth the 50 dollar or so price tag. AW

I have a pair of prana pants that are pretty sweet except they ripped on me after not much use at all. The seams on them weren't put together well or something. I don't know if I just got a defect or what. I usually wear shorts anyway, unless it is cold of course.

Liar! I have never seen you boulder naked. So I have to disagree with the Prana thing. Not worth the $50. Cargo pants from Kohls: $10. Last longer, more durable, nuff said.

I could live in Prana clothes exclusively...for bouldering, they're excellent, especially the ones made of rip-stop cotton that can be repaired easily. Bouldering is hard on pants so expect them to get damaged, just know how to use a needle & thread & you'll add some "character" to your pants

I usually just use my rei pants they have a drawcord at the bottom and I draw it up to high calf. But I did just buy a pair of prAna pants I havent had a chance to use em yet seeing how I am in school and not climbing.

So far (Im New to all this still) I have had the best luck with jeans, Big jeans, That make me have a saggy arse, Rolled 80's style. I tried long shorts, sliced my legs open. Tried warm-up pants, still pulling rock fragments out of my legs... though, maybe i just need to find a duller boulder to call my home....

Hardcoredana, I have to disagree. I have never worn out a pair of prana pants, and I put things through torture. I climb a lot of offwidths and that shreds clothes quick. I have had the same pair of prana pants for the past 4 years. AW

i've got some kinda wind pants deal going on....i think they're a cheap pair of Rue 21 outlet pants....but in 2 yrs of bouldering (and hiking and school and...etc) i've never gotten a single hole in them...so what if the zipper broke though! right? they're comfy, roomy and all that jazz...plus i don't have the money to spend over 20 bucks on a pair of pants! some climbers are BROKE ARSE POOR! haha [ This Message was edited by: alternativekudzu on 2002-03-11 20:54 ]

i've got a little secret to share: I always wear shorts (u can wear any kind of shorts as long as they r comfortable). Best moves are made while wearing shorts. I can't handle long pants... that's all folks! Nicole

Cassin shorts. They just cover the knees. No restriction. Multipul dirrectional stretch. Diamond cut crotch. --->thats the way to go!

I would have to agree with Gekolimit. I wear the 3/4 version. I don't really like Prana pants/shorts because of the restriction on the movement of the knees. The designs are kind of cool but thats not what I worry about... abit.

i like to wear 3/4's, board shorts, or diamond cut crotch leggings. the leggings work well on cold weather and prevents those darn rocks from sticking to your legs. .
