howdy! i was wondering if there was any place i could find out how to tie useful knots for climbing, spesificly belay and repelling knots. thanks ryan

The best guide out there is the Falcon book "Knots for Climbers" You can get it from most bookstores like Barnes & Noble, etc. Your local climbing shop should have it also... If not, you can always find it online. AW

another great tool is to go into the links page here on our site and type in knots...and you will get a pretty good web page. Just a thought...try all our sources...wonders never cese

Two other good sources are "Knots and Ropes for Climbers" by Duane Raleigh and "The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Knots and Ropework" by Geoffrey Budworth. You should be able to find them on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Climb On [ This Message was edited by: coach on 2001-11-13 11:38 ]

get the goclimb! magazine by rock and ice. it has all the knots and everything a beginner should know!

I would also suggest that you have someone at the local gym show you how to tie some knots, so that you can see a 3d perspective. They may be reluctant though, due to liability issues. AW
