Did you recently upgrade your rack and replace your old bent-gates with new lighter wire-gates? For whatever the reason, if you have more biners than you need, and the old ones are still in good shape, PM me. I could take a dozen or so off your hands. GO

Try http://www.acmeclimbing.com/html/carabiners.html ran into this recently. Havent read into them. So make sure they r good first. If so 8.95 per quickdraw is a good price (better then most sell them used). But then again it seems to good of a deal to b true (as in good gear) kinda ...

Use and enforce this rule... $5 or a biner every time someone steps on your rope. It'll protect your rope, and I have gotten 9 biners this way, and one steak dinner from a partner w3ho just couldn't stay off of it. I originally heard the rule as "$5 or a beer", but I don't drink.

In reply to: Use and enforce this rule... $5 or a biner every time someone steps on your rope. Wow, now that is obnoxious. Remind me never to climb with you. Of course, I guess if you're constantly climbing with bumblies it might be worthwhile to make a rule like that. You do know that it's not the "stepping on" your rope that damages it but rather the fine particulate matter from dirt and sand (stepping on it just grinds it into the fibers)?

I pretty much always step on the rope after I've pulled up a bight to clip into my rappel device. Oh, and I'm still looking for biners. The Acme ones don't have a full spec online (like gate opening). So... anyone have biners you don't need? Wire, straight, or bent gate - it's all good! GO

The biners have been purchased, so I'm no longer in need. Thanks for your time! GO

In reply to: Use and enforce this rule... $5 or a biner every time someone steps on your rope. I'm gonna start to enforce that rule. Thanks for the idea.
