The lace ups are alot better, but the velcros are still awsome shoes.

Dude, honestly i think the AV's have stepped my bouldering up a grade (lol V2-V3now) lol. nahh dude.. they stick to anything (except that shiatty stuff sandstone stuff that is just powdery ya know), they have a thinner sole, velcro, smear great, and edge AWESOME. i love them and will never use my scarpas again! anyway i am out, time for bed. tang

Five-Ten rubber is, of course, the stickiest. The Anasazi Velcro edges very well; the Lace-up even better, if it fits your foot. It is often the case that if the Velcro fits you, the Lace-Up doesn't, and vice versa. -Jay

I have both and Love both. I use my lace ups for sport and a little trad and my velcros for bouldering and sometimes sport.

Found the toes on them are awesome, edge on anything, but for me the heels are too big. Massive dead spots in them and they even started to come off when heel hooking. Shame cause they are fantastic shoes.

I got to get me a pair of the AV's. I've been looking at buying a pair for sometime. [ This Message was edited by: aulwes on 2002-02-11 23:16 ]

Yes, it seems as though most people enjoy the company of the Anasazi Velcro. My feet too enjoy the tight fit, and sticky edging that they provide. I have yet to find any cons in the design of the Anasazi except for one minuscule detail: The interior material retain sweat and smell. I still haven't been able to get the stink from them!

I bought a pair of the lace ups and they edge great; almost on anything. however, they dont smear as well as i wish they would. i'm wondering if its just my pair cause my friends seem to do fine on them, especially the velcros on smear moves
