Dude do this: on the desktop icon that launches your program, right click, go to properties, then click on the compatibility tab, and then, select the "Run this program with compatibility for..WIN98... give it a shot and let me know if it works...

Some other people have had this problem too, and have apparently made a workaround in XP. Here's an example: http://www.driverforum.com/scanner2/2748.html Google the following terms "visioneer 7600 xp" and you'll get this and similar responses. Google answers everything (or the answer isn't out there). "The Nine Billion Names of God" comes to mind. Here's the first question I can't find an answer for: How to build a mooseblower. It's a can with a tight string through the middle, both ends cut out, so that when wind blows through it the device whistles, scaring animals away from a fence or such. Anyone ever heard of it or know another name for it? kelly

I find this thread so hilarious. You try to GIVE away a free scanner, even offer to deliver it in your area,,,and all you get are suggestions on how you might be able to make it work. I still have one machine on 98, PM if none of these suggestions for adapting to XP work out and I'll take if off your hands. I use the scanners at work and haven't yet bothered getting one for home.

In reply to: Mooseblower?!?!?!?!?! Yeah, everyone call me crazy. :P I probably dreamed it up one night and woke up thinking it was for real... So, wanna go ice climbing with me? I know these neat anchors that aren't in FOTH.

Now you tell me. hahaha oh well. I had already bought a slimmer scanner that takes up less space cuz you can stack it on it's side when not in use. Canon. Wasn't too expensive. But now i just need to get rid of the old one. I think i got someone that can use it already. Just pm'd him back. cheers, munge
