(Put this in trip Reports, cause I didn't know where else to put it... Mods should move as they see fit.) So, a hypothetical scenario: You've got more money than you know what to do with, and you're going to take two weeks to go climbing. Anywhere in the world, but you can only go to one place. And you've only got two weeks. That includes travel to and from. Style of climbing doesn't matter... alpine, trad, sport, etc. Pick your place... Mine: Australia, the Grampains. So?

[quote="renoPick your place... Mine: Australia, the Grampains. So? I would have to agree with you here...plus Arapiles is nearby..not a bad combo if it wasn't for all the bad Aussie food though. But that is more then made up with all the great Aussie beer.

since i need lots of experience still, the one place I could get it is in Yosemite. go bag a wall or two, refine the crack skills, boost up the level of climbing...then, ohhh, the possibilities! i'd love to go to New Zeland, or Austraila...I also want to cruise up to Canada and hit Patagonia while i'm at it. China is also on the list (i'm hoping to go there in a couple of years anyway).....

If I had more money than I knew what to do with I'd quit my job that only let's me take off two weeks and go on a never ending road trip.

first, that's not nearly long enough to become acclimatized (unless, of course, you [i:667fcb0284]enjoy[/i:667fcb0284] hape and hace). second, two weeks gives you just enough time to hike in to basecamp, turn around, and head back to lukla to catch your flight out.

Thailand for sure if it was only two weeks and you wanted to go international. I'd try to push it for longer than two weeks though. Two weeks for everest...i don't think so.

Yosemite. I would use the first day to hike up the non-technical side of Half Dome, then I would climb the rest of the time. Or Spain. Or Australia. I wish I had "more money than I knew what to do with!"

I'm not sure there is such a thing as "more money than I know what to do with," however, I get your point. I'd go to Thailand. Although, if I had a month, it would change to the Cirque of the Unclimbables in the NW Territories.

knowing me, i would probably head to south america - chile, peru, argentina, bolivia, and colombia are all high on the ticklist. then again, ecuador and brazil are also on the list, so i'd probably just figure out the logistics depending on the season that i had this dream trip and what all was going on politically, etc. new zealand is also nice, and i still havent seen tasmania yet. then again, i could always just buy a full aid rack and head to the desert for a few weeks. i'm sure that i could track down some world class partners if i could afford all the steaks and beer that they could eat/drink.
