Hey I got a singing rock zenith harness a few months ago when I started gym climbing. I got the smallest size available but when i go climbing, i make it as tight as it will go, and velcro the belt thingy, its great sure yeah, but when I am rapping down or take a fall the velcro completely comes undone. is this because it is too big? it kind of feels too big b/c the velcro at its tightest point is still not tight! any suggestions ?
thank you! jenn

I don't know where this velcro is but when you tighten the buckle as far as it will go is there any chance the swami can slide down past your hips? If so then this could be a deadly situation. If you're POSITIVE it can't slide past your hips it's probably just an annoyance. This isn't something you want to just be pretty sure about. Find an experienced climber and have them check it out!!

I hate velcro on harnesses - it always rips when weighted even if your harness fits perfectly.

If you are worried about it, you are better off going to a local gear shop or gym, and asking someone you trust to know what they are doing. either that, or post a picture of you wearing the harness - it is pretty much impossible to say if it fits or not by a vague description.

No, they don't. Velco isn't always bad either. Arc'Teryx harnesses have velcro, or attleast some do, and it seems to work fine. My friend has a BD harness and it has velcro, works fine too.

I HATE THE VELCRO ON MY HARNESS!!!
I don't know which is worse the fact that every time I fall or weight it I hear a RIIIPPP or the fact that I am getting used to the noise

This used to happen to me on my old harness.
Its no big deal.
The harness was the right size and it did the same thing.
Its just velcro.
I would'nt worry about it unless your harness is falling off of you on its own.
Take care.
