I was on a campus board on the two finger shallow edges when I felt a pop. The internet said that if the tendon came off of bone I would have needed surgery. With that in mind i went to my friends mom, who happens to be in nursing school right now. She made me make a fist to prove the tendon was still attached...it hurt like hell.

Her recommendation was to splint my arm to keep myself from using my entire hand. Take lots of ibuprofen, i think 1200 mg a day, gradually over the day. Don't quote me on this one, but it was a lot of ibuprofin. And ice ice ice.

My ignorant and uninformed idea would be to do what she recommended for me. Go see a doc, any sports doc that has a good history. (sorry i cant recommend one) Please post back on what he/she says your injury is and what they recommended for it.

it's very simple...

3 steps is all it should take.

1. go see your regular doctor

2. ask him to refer you to a quality sports Dr. in related injury field

3. go to new Dr. about injury

if it were a knee, hip, shoulder, or ankle and you were in Banff Id reccomend you try and go see Dr. Hurd. but then again you need to BE REFERED BY A REGULAR DOCTOR FIRST...see step 1
