I'm planning on taking a 2-3 week trip to NZ to climb (sport & bouldering), hike & explore. This trip is in its early stages of planning as I do not even have dates picked out. So...my question to you, fine rc.com-er, when is the best time of year for me to visit NZ? Thanks, Sno

November would be my suggestion. October has good weather, but access to certain hiking trails/crags can still be an issue, due to lambing season. By November lambing is over, weather is good, and the mad tourist season hasn't quite kicked into full swing yet. March and April are ok too, because the tourist season is winding down, but being fall the weather starts to get quite unpredictable (actually the weather here is ALWAYS unpredictable, but sometimes worse that others). Just my 2cents...
