How hard is it to get new picks for charlet moser's Pulsar axe or other older tools?

I'm new to ice climbing and don't have a big budget so I was looking at picking up some older tools that people are getting rid of. Is it worth it to get the older tools?

Hi there,
If you can find the tools at a really good price go for it. Picks are still available.

http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=668097&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=311069&bmUID=1110640749243

But be sure that you are getting a good price, as a lot of rental tools go on sale pretty cheap at the end of a season.
