Hey Wes, I can't make it that weekend but I will let you know when I can. I haven't been to the Throne in years and I think its about time I check it out again. Have you (or anyone else reading this) ever climbed the Limestone at Steel Creek or the Sandstone near Compton? I go caving near Compton a couple of times a year and I've heard that there is a climbing area close to a waterfall there, anyone who can provide more info on the area will be most appreciated. I hope the wrist is all healed by now (and they say climbing is dangerous) and that you have an awesome time at the Throne

There is some information about the climbing at Compton under the Arkansas sites. I believe it is next to a waterfall, in a horseshoe shaped bluffline. I've never been there but it seems pretty good.

I may be out at Cave this weekend as well either in an old white Ford or a Celica convertible (black, and old as well). There is some climbing near Compton in Hemmed-in-Hollow. You need at least a 300' rope to toprope the small stuff off of California point (it's against the rules to put permanent anchors in wilderness area-please don't). I must warn you, though. It is humid as hell right now and it is a VERY strenuous hike to get all the way to the bottom and back out again. The rock quality is crappy for the most part, but there are some good adventure climbs that make you realize how dangerous toproping can be for you and your belayer. Give me a post sometime this fall, and I could take some folks down there. Otherwise, I'm going to stick around easy-to-access stuff and try to fight off the drunks again.
