I moved back to N.Y. from Colorado a few months ago and I am looking for some east coast partners. the week I got back to N.Y. I injured my wrist mountain biking so I have been out of commision for a while. I am looking for someone to climb with while I regain strength. I would be willing to lead easy routes and follow up to 5.9 untill I recover fully. befoure my injury I was leading 5.9/some 10 trad and 5.11 sport. I have twin and single ropes and a full rack capable of protecting almost any route in the Gunks. As far as experience goes: I have been climbing for 5 years, and have climbed in J-tree, Moab, Durango, the Gunks, the British Virgin Islands, Australias Blue Mountains, Elderado Canyon, Penetente Canyon, and Cascade Canyon. I have an intimate knowledge of rope systems and anchors.............I have a plethera of partners out west, I'm just looking for some out here......... committed2climb@aol.com if you are interested

In reply to: try www.gunks.com too, I think that they have a partner board there as well... good luck! They do, but you'll need to pay at least $5 and the partner pool is minimal. Do note that the webmaster is retooling the partner database on that site with an unveiling sometime in May. Hopefully the new database will incorporate policies that result in a larger pool of potential partners (can you say alliteration...) Meanwhile, I suggest www.climbnyc.com instead. T

My wife and I live in Philly, and are looking to start lead climbing. WE don't mind the 3 hour drive to the Gunks. We have a rope and a lot of the gear as well. IF you would be willing to teach, we would be willing to partner up. We are both teachers and our spring break is next week 3/21-3/25. Plus we have the summers off. If your interested email me clax170@yahoo.com look forward to hearing from you -Craig

Hey there - I'm interested... just broke up with my boyfriend last month who was also my climbing partner. I don't lead yet, but can follow up to 5.9. I'm looking for a partner I can also learn from. Maybe this could work out.

Hi, I'm looking for a gunks climbing partner. I've been climbing for 5 years but have been set back by injury and illness (I'm fine now). I'm following to 5.9 and will gladly fall off 10's and 11's. I am just starting to lead. But I'm very serious about making progress this year. I just got back from 6 days in JTree - amazing! Wanted to climb the gunks today but NO PARTNER. So I'm sitting in my apartment looking for partners online. I have a rope and tr rack. I'm very saftety conscious and am training my ass off to become a stronger climber. I'm into trad and am looking to do some trips and longer routes. Finding a good partner is key. Drop me a line. Glenn

Hey, I'm live in Maine, but 5 hours to the Gunks is not a bad trip at all. I'm looking to do quite a bit of climbing down there this summer. I've been climbing for about 3 years, decent rack, I can lead up to a 5.11d sport and about a 5.10c/d trad. PM me if interested

I am free during some of the weekdays in May. I lead climbing and kayak trips on the weekends. Sounds like we can swing leads if you are free during the week. let me know and i'll drive up. I'm putting this up so others can see it if interested but i'll email you (OP) also.
