I have been looking and asking around and can't find anyone that teaches kids to climb. There are no gyms that I know of in St. George where I am, and I would love to get them outdoors to any one of the great spots around here and get them an instructor, but I haven't had any luck finding one. My kids are 5 and 7. Any info that you know of would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, but that is not the type of climbing I am referring to. I need someone that knows how to use a harness and ropes. I don't want to kill them, just teach them good climbing skills.

Try asking the people at Veyo Pool/ Crawdad Canyon. that might be a good start.

If you know how to post on rockclimbing.com then you should know how to use google. I found this in all of three seconds. http://www.paragonclimbing.com/paragon.html A rockclimbing guiding service based out of St. George.

I have contacted Paragon already. They don't teach younger than 6 yrs. Is there a way to be helpful without being rude? I won't be visiting this site again.

Sorry for the snippy response, you don't sound like some of the more ignorant people who visit this site. Looks like you might be out of luck, it looked like Paragon was the biggest outfitter in the St. George area. You may want to look into guiding services based in Las Vegas and climbing in Redrocks. There is a much larger climbing community in the Vegas area. If all else fails you could buy a book and figure out how to toprope your youngsters yourself. Most of the climbs around St. George are sport (i.e. fixed anchors)
