…occasionally I introduce my “Rocker Guitar Playing” son to some music that I think he may like…from “back in the day”. With I-Tunes it’s so easy to find those long lost classics…..anyway…in a lapse of judgement (yes I’d had few)…I downloaded Poison “Every Rose” …and Bon Jovi..”Steel Horse”…I KNOW….I KNOW….so now my son thinks I’m retarded and gay….what can I do to get his trust back? Love Disgraced Dad

Start by hiding your copy of Deliverance 'Love Songs'...

never mind your son, I'm pretty sure we all think you're retarded and gay. Gosh, why not add some Ratt to the mix, ya freaking pillow biter.

Hook him up with "Because We Ended as Lovers" from Jeff Beck's Beckola album, or "Freeway Jam" from Blow by Blow. Then a little SRV, just because. Your welcome.

Poison? Bon Jovi?, are you crazy? Your son has every right to think his Dad is a big fat retard. Quickly, you need to make up for this by lots of Zepplin, Hendrix, and Cream.

^^ Not really. My son is a pretty good drummer (jazz and some rock) for his age (14), and he thinks all this stuff is cool. Not that there's any hope of return from Bon Jovi... Every dad of this generation has a solemn responsibility to bury that part of the past, to erase it from history. At least for the next thousand years.

Now it's in my head. Every Rose has it's thorn.... Reminds me of making out behind the bleachers in Jr High. Damn, it's still in my head. He needs to hear these songs. Just tell him that he doesn't have to like it, but he should appreciate the trends of those days. Disco sucks, but people loved it in the 70's just like people loved Poison and the hair bands of the day. And he doesn't have much room to talk. Todays music blows for the most part.

Hehe. Every Rose was my very first Karaoke song ever. I didn't know anything but the chorus, so I basically just stood up there during the rest of it. Ahh, good times. K.

Play hime some Journey, followed by Air Supply. Then bring back the Bon JOvi. They'll sound like rock gods!! You'll then have to deal with the Air Supply stigma but hey, no plan is perfect.

There was a revival going on down at the crik on Sunday. Delilah, the town Ho, felt the spirit come over her and she was first in line to be saved. The preacher man took her out in the crik and floated her on her back, supporting her for the upcoming baptism. "Lord, I've had sex for money!" Delilah proclaimed. "Jesus will save you." Intoned the preacher man as he dunked her forthwith. Delilah came up sputtering, but clearly the holy savior was upon her for she then said loudly, "Jesus, I've, I've, I;ve had sex with 3 men at the same time!" "The Lord protects," responded the preacher man and down she went again. Clearly under the impression that '3rd times a charm' Delilah decided to truly unburden herself this time. "Dear God in Heaven, I've, um, I'm had, uh, I've, I've... I've had sex with a german shepard!" Preacher man did a double take and said, "I don't believe Ida told that one." DMT
