I still prefer Letterman's old-school Velcro Man. Surely that would be cheaper to build than the 'rare earths' construction they talk about on the Spider Climbing site. Make sure to click through on the banner ad, though, if you want to take a look!

I was thinking about giving all my gear away and investing all of my time into magnetic climbing. I wonder how good it sticks to rock. Maybe it will help me break the 5.12 barrier. Seriously it does seem kind of lame but I could see it working well for boy scouts or something of that nature, because speaking for experience being a belay slave for 40+ kids tends to loose its thrill really quick.
