Climbers around Ouray?

So I just moved to Ouray for the summer and on getting here, I noticed a developed crag 5 minutes walk from my house. The problem is that I don't have anyone here to climb with  . Do any of you RC.com users climb in or around Ouray and would anyone be willing to show me around a little bit? Even if you could mention some names of crags other than the pool wall, that would be fantastic and greatly appreciated. Anyway please PM me if you know anything.

Thanks,
Adam

Adam, have you seen the fairly recent magazine article (R&I, I think) about Ouray rock? It seemed to have pretty good beta and made it sound like the crags around town are way better than they look.

Also, with all the climber-types living in Ridgway and Ouray now I doubt you'll have too much trouble finding a partner around there.

Good luck!

there is a guide book for the ouray area. i'm sure the town shop has it. all sport and hard (5.11 and up for the most part). i don't rock climb up there, but if you ever make it down toward Durango or Ophir (over by Telluride), let me know.

I've looked at the pool wall and it looks cool, I've also recieved the skinny on some of the bouldering areas around here. I went into the local shop and couldn't find a guidebook. I've heard that there is one, but I can't seem to find it. Out of print? Anyway, I plan on making it out to Ophir sometime this summer when I get enough time from work Ray, so I'll let you know if you can find me out there sometime. Still looking for a partner here in Ouray. Thanks for your help guys, have a good summer of climbing.
