There is a nice looking couloir on the middle Apostle. I believe this is also called Ice Mountain??? Does anyone have any information on it? It's full of snow right now. Where do you approach these peaks from? Same trailhead as Huron? Thanks.

It's called the 'Refrigerator Couloir'. One of Colorado's classic snow climbs.

That's Refrigerator???? Oh wow! It looks beautiful! I had no idea that was it. Where do you access it from?

Go to summitpost.com, do a search for Ice Mountain and you'll get lots of beta there.

It's a beautiful climb, ripe this time of year, though you do have some rotten rock in places. I think (and others agree) it's the best 'technical' mountain of the entire Sawatch Range.

you start from the same place as huron. its written up in the gerry roach 13er guidebook. that couloir is nice, and much better than the choss ridge scramble. there is a trail, but its a bit hard to follow in places.

if you do it, can you measure it with a slopemeter? i've been thinking about skiiing it, but i can't remember exactly how steep it is(i was last up there 5 years ago or so i think).

Tracy, enough with the snow already. It's summer. Time for ROCK climbing. Any thoughts on where we're going this Thursday?

Hey Lady! I can have the best of both worlds in my little world.

Not sure about Thurs. You guys decide. Would rather clip bolts since we have a group. So far it's me, you, Lisa and Synte. Not sure about JenS yet. I haven't heard back. You guys pick. I'm open for anywhere.

Do you want to try Highwire? Or Lookout Mountain?

Highwire would work.
