Hey guys and gals, I was wondering if there was anyway of getting around having to spend $30 for an SDS bit when you are only using a hand drill. I hear that there was a way of reshaping the head of a normal bit and it will work the same. Anyone else hear or know how to do it?

$30 is the upper level for the fancy SDS bits at home depot.
