In reply to: i havent been to them yet are "The mill" and some other one in melbourne... theyre are the 2 tallest in the southern hemisphere and supposedly quite good aswell The Mill in Melbourne is by far the best gym I have ever been to - huge, high, and an unbelievable bouldering cave. I was checking out their website though, and tragically I think they have closed and it has been turned into apartments (I haven't been there in 3 years).

In reply to: how about get outside and climb  How about you don't post useless crap in the "Indoor Gyms" section of the forum. It is a simple question if you don't have anything constructive to add just leave it be. They asked about gyms so people answered about gyms.

Inner Peaks in Charlotte, NC is awesome! I have been to other gyms around the country but Inner Peaks is hands down my favorite. I like it so much that i got a job there. http://www.innerpeaks.com  "There's a sea of rock out there, boys and girls. So what's the hold up?" -Matt Samet

In reply to: I live in UTAH, and the gyms here are most often bouldering gyms, with the best being the outragousely, but justified price of the front in Salt lake. You need to check out the Quarry, in Provo. Lead wall thats a full pitch long, all the routs can be lead or TR'd. And they have a set up that simulates southern Utah crack climbing, and a totaly seperate bouldering area upstairs. The pro shop, Mountain works has the best selection of gear that ive found, and the whole shebang is run by climbers

I remember the Loucks' Albuquerque Rock Gym well. It was the third rock gym in the country, after the Vertical Club and CATS, and was a great place to hang on windy, wintery days in Albuquerque. The Loucks, I think, moved to the Phoenix, AZ, area, but I've lost touch. Very nice people. They used to have these hilarious comps where part of the route, which usually crossed, criss-crossed, and re-crossed the entirety of the gym, would involve Tarzan swings to span the void and ringing bells for points. That place had big-time character. I miss it. Matt

MetroRock, just north of Boston. Pretty darn sweet. http://www.metrorock.com Check out some of the pics.. this place is supposedly over 17,000 sq. feet. Also, wasn't Inner Peaks that Radwall gym that needed to be totally refinished and eventually put them (Radwall) out of business?

I've had a membership at the spot for the past two winters and I think it is hands down the best bouldering gym in the country. www.thespotgym.com If you spend a winter training there be sure and get into the animal strenth progam. It will make you wicked strong and you'll be in the company of some of the best climbers in the country. I can't beleive that no one has mentioned the Boulder Rock Club yet. For quality of route setting and social scene it's hard to beat the BRC. www.boulderrock.com I would also like to say that in the summer time and if its not raining get outside but when winter training comes along these two gyms are among the elite.

I believe that's the second time Chris has posted useless comments... way to go Chris! Maybe in GA you can climb outside most of the year, but here in the Northeast where it snows a lot, if you're not into ice climbing, gyms play a big role in getting your fix. If you have nothing to add to the conversation, do us a favor and pi$$ off.

Yes, this is indeed my 2nd "Useless" post. Though I normally make intelligent replys and ask reasonable questions, I chose this time to just piss you off.
