I am a newby and tiered of being the bum with no gear. I’m looking at the Black Diamond “Momentum AL” for my first harness. Suggestions are more than welcome.

I have recently purchased this harness, it is very comfortable and the price is right. I would reccommend this to you, especially as a beginner. It could probably be used for anything you can think of (toproping, sport, trad, gym). Though it wouldn't be the best for one specific type, it is good as an all arounder. -Sean. I really hope that made sense, to sum it up, Yes i would reccommend it. Have fun climbing.

I bought the package that comes with an ATC, a biner, a chalkbag and chalk and I would again... I have other harness now, but still carry the old Momentum, which has very little signs of wear after a year of heavy use... I say go for it :P

It's an awesome harness. It was my first harness, felt comfortable and was nice and padded. Also liked the molded gear loops (don't like those flimsy ones). It's also nice and cheap. Hold off on the package deal, you can get better stuff.

This harness is in my opinion the best value out there. I've got one and it works great. Before buying any harness, hang in it for awhile to make sure it's comfortable.
