Just curious on typical conditions around Europe in early spring. Greece, southern Spain and France? Or possibly Italy or Sardinia? Thanks for any info! Keith :D

Hi Keith, Your post was probably overlooked first thing Monday, as there are plenty of us to answer this :D . If you specify a bit more, it'll be easier to help you. What kind of climbing do you want to do - boulder, trad, ice, sport? Any of the places you named will most likely have good climbing that time of year, but if you get more specific, we can probably point you in the right direction (besides up  ). Taz

Its prime time for cool spring sport climbing in South France/Spain/Italy. Corsica might be a little cool and have snow up high, but if you stick to the coasts, no problem. Its also a really great time for ski mountaineering / alpinism in the alps. HC

Most stable weather should be in Greece or Spain I think. South of France or Italy, hm, wouldn't bet on it. H.

The weather in Spain is best during March/April, not too hot. Great if you're used to cold wet weather.

this is the ideal time of the year to visit osp/mija peč in slovenia and paklenica in croatia. paklenica should be especially fine because it shouldnt be too crowded at the time.

I was in Siurana in April 2004, and when it wasn't raining the temps were perfect and the climbing was so good. However, it rained A LOT, and seemed to be raining everywhere in western Europe (we checked out other places to see if there was somewhere we could go that would be drier). We were told many times that it was an unusually wet spring, but don't the locals always say that? Went to Ceuse for May and early June and got maybe one rainy day there though- also awesome climbing, some of the best I've ever done.
