i may come to spend some bouldering time in northern Colorado in the spring and wondering if I was to buy one of Philip benningfields bouldering guides online, which is bett for a tourist- the first or second edition? I noticed the newer one is lacking about 100 fewer pages, why so. thanks -greg :?:

They aren't two different editions, they're more like two seperate volumes. The newer one generally covers newer development that wasn't on the radar when the old one came out. If you can only afford one, go with the original since it covers more of the well-established areas and should keep you plenty busy.

Agreed. The second one isn't too useful, without the first one. Curt

I am not to keen on the second vol to much in price for to little in info. Most of the info I was able to pick up on the net. I have used the first to the point of the cover coming off.
