Well, I am not sure what I am looking for. I am just breaking into 11's. I don't know how the ratings compute out there as compared to here (Denver). So I guess looking for advice on what is close to LA, what is a good gym, areas to avoid, ect.

I like sport and trad. I am not sure exactly where I will be, but it will be close to Compton.

well for sport you've got williamson, new jack city, malibu creek, echo cliffs, riverside quarry, owens river gorge is like 4 or 5 hours and there are many other crags around.

for trad there joshua tree, tahquitz, and suicide. yosemite, the needles, and red rocks are all close enough for weekend trips.

for those gym days the closest to compton are probably rockreation in west la or beach city rocks in south bay, maybe one or two others depending on where you end up.

welcome to hell...i mean LA

Just out of curiousity, why are you giving up Denver for LA? I've never lived in either one but I've lived close to both of them and I can tell you LA sucks.
