You Trekies out there might get a kick out of this. My son is taking a year of basic computer classes in 8th grade. One of the assignments was to create a business letter for a job and a resume to go along with it. Here is what he came up with. I find this hilarious, especially being this is from a 13 year old. Admiral Satie Personnel Director Starfleet Headquarters 23145 Starfleet Dr. San Francisco, Ca. 94116 Dear Admiral Your advertisement in the Starfleet Command Newspaper under the help wanted section indicated that you have a battle bridge supervisory position open on the Starship Appalachia NCC-52136. I am interested in this position and believe I am qualified to carry out its requirements. I am finishing my senior year of battle bridge combat training on the galaxy class Starship Enterprise under Lieutenant Commander Worf. The security subjects I study such as emergency command supervision, battle operations, and emergency saucer separation help me adapt quickly to on-the-job tasks and procedures. I believe the education and practical work experience I am gaining will help me to learn the battle bridge operations quickly and perform the tasks of a bridge supervisor effectively. I would appreciate an opportunity to talk with you about becoming a contributing member of the Starship Appalachia. Please call me to schedule an interview at your convenience. Sincerely Landon Wheeler Enclosure: Resume Staff Sergeant Landon A. Wheeler 237 SW Rand Dr. Burleson, TX. 76028 Earth Goal: Battle Bridge Commander on a Steamrunner Class Starship Work Experience Security officer U.S.S. Enterprise October 2368 to present. Fire fighter San Francisco, California Earth April 2357 to February 2358 Duties: Extinguish fires, Save cats in trees, medical first responder. Education Starfleet Academy San Francisco, California Earth April 2354 to April 2358 Grade average: A Subjects: Cybernetics, emergency medical procedures, warp propulsion, majoring in combat and defensive tactics. Extracurricular Activities member of three string orchestra assistant combat trainer References enclosed Does anyone believe trekieness is hereditary?

In reply to: In reply to: Mobile Infantry Planet Klendathu February 2358 to October 2368 Duties: Eliminate hostile bugs, command troops, coordinate fire missions. 2368-2358=10 I was reading the fire-fighting bit below and got all muddled up. I hoped my edit would happen before anyone saw. Now my shame is public. Lock me in a room with a sword. I'll do the honorable thing.

I saw your post and by the time I replied you had edited, hence the deletion of my post. I think the real shame here is us publicly admitting to know more than would ever be nescessary on the above topics

They battled the bugs for quite a while, but Klendathu was only one of many bug planets.
